ENGAGEMENT AS LAW ASSISTANT IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT PATNA-2022

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement to the 16
posts of Law Assistants on contract basis in the High Court of Judicature at Patna by
the way of ‘Selection through Advertisement’ under the relevant Clauses of the ‘Revised
Scheme for Engagement of Law Assistants in the High Court of Judicature at Patna,
2021’ (copy may be downloaded from the official website of Patna High Court).
Willing candidates may apply online through the link provided on the official
website i.e. www.patnahighcourt.gov.in only after payment of an application fee of Rs.
250/- only (Rupees Two hundred and Fifty only). The application fee once paid shall not not be refunded under any circumstances. The link shall remain active from
01.06.2022 to 23.06.2022 till 23:55 hrs., after which the link shall be disabled. However,
should a candidate fail to submit the application online on account of a technical glitch,
the candidate shall be at liberty to submit the application, duly filled in the word
processing format through speed post within two days of the closure of the link i.e. till
25.06.2022. The application submitted through speed post must contain all duly attested
copies of required certificate along with a proof that their applications were not accepted
through online mode on account of a technical issue.They must enclose a Demand Draft of the requisite examination fee issued in favour of the Registrar General, Patna High
Court, payable at Patna.

Educational Qualifications
Law Graduates/ Post Graduates from a University/ College recognized by Bar
Council of India shall be eligible to apply
apply/ serve as Law Assistant provided that
the applicant has passed LL.B/ LL.M examination within two years from the
date of detailed advertisement. Also, their candidature must be recommended
by a designated Senior Advocate of this Court or by the Head of the last Law
School/ College/ University attended by him/her.
Or
A final year Law student pursuing 03 year/ 05 year Law Course shall also be
eligible to apply for the post of Law Assistant subject to production of
provisional degree certificate on the date of his/ her interview for being
considered for selection.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality– A candidate for engagement to the post of Law Assistant must
be a citizen of India
Character :- The character of a candidate must be such as to render suitable
in all respect for engagement in the service in the High Court. The decision of
the Appointing Authority in this regard shall be final.
Age limit :- A candidate applying for engagement as Law Assistant must not
be below 18 years of age as on the 1st January, 2022.
Mode of Selection
Applications complete in all respect fulfilling required
eligibility criteria, supported with required documents and legible appropriate
recommendation secured not older than 03 months of date of
advertisement shall only be considered for further processing. The High Court
administration reserves the right to conduct a screening test of the eligible
candidates in case considerable number of applications are received for
engagement. It shall be followed by an interview for selection of suitable
candidates for engagement as Law Assistant
The High Court reserves the right to bring about changes in the selection
procedure/ scheme of Examination as per requirement of the Court.
